I mainly tried Lemonade just to see if any discount I could get, and turns out I was able to get a lower rate. Signing up was quick and not complicated. The app also is simple enough to use. I’m giving 4 stars only because I had to poke around a little to figure out which discounts were actually applying, but overall it worked fine for me.

Getting renters insurance was actually really easy, and I liked that the process felt simple and straightforward. The only downside was that pet insurance wasn’t available in my area, which was disappointing because I was hoping to bundle everything in one place. Still, overall it was a good experience — I just wish the coverage options were a little more consistent everywhere.

"Helpful in the End, but a Bit Slow"
I used Lemonade and had to reach out to support with a question about a claim. The person I talked to was nice and did explain what I needed to do, which I really appreciated. It just took longer than I expected to get a real answer. A few of the first replies felt kind of copy-paste, and that was a little annoying. In the end, they did help me get everything sorted out, so that was good. I just wish the process had been a bit faster and more clear from the start.

It took me a few tries to get it right. At first I was like, okay, am I doing something wrong here? But after messing with it a bit, it finally worked the way I expected. Not a totally smooth start, but I got there in the end.

I needed my proof of insurance for my apartment and was able to find it quickly in the Lemonade app. Once I got to the right spot, downloading the document was super easy, and I really appreciated not having to call anyone. THAT was a relief.
I’m giving 4 stars because it did take me a minute to figure out where it was in the menu. Not a huge issue at all, but I do think it could be a little more obvious

I had a question about my policy and, gut feeling, I was expecting it to turn into one of those all-day customer service headaches. But lemonade got back to me quickly and actually answered my question directly, not with some generic copy-paste response. It was simple, clear, and didn’t turn into a bunch of unnecessary back and forth. it just felt like they handled it the way customer service should.

I needed to make a change to my Lemonade policy and was expecting it to be a bit of a hassle, but it ended up being straightforward.
I didn’t have to call anyone or sit around waiting, which was nice. I just went through the steps online, and while I had to read things over carefully to make sure I was doing it right, everything was clear enough.

The updated information came through quickly, and overall it was a smooth experience. Not the most exciting task, obviously, but it was nice that it just worked without much trouble

I recently canceled my Lemonade policy, and to be fair, the cancellation did go through without any major problem. The app was quick once I figured out where to go, but finding the actual cancellation option was more of a hassle than I expected. I had to click around for a bit, which was frustrating because it should’ve been more obvious. I did get a confirmation afterward, so that part was fine, but I wish they gave clearer info upfront about things like refund timing. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but it definitely felt like it could’ve been smoother

Renewing my policy with lemonade was simple. I got the reminder, checked over the details, and everything was clear enough. I didn’t have to call anyone or sit around waiting, which I definitely appreciated. The price seemed fair too, and the whole thing only took a few minutes. That said, if there was going to be any change or confusion on their end, I’d expect at least a quick apology instead of just moving along like nothing happened. Overall, happy with how easy it was

"Pretty clear, even when I was overthinking it"
I was a little confused at first because deductibles usually make me feel like I’m missing some hidden catch, but Lemonade laid it out clearly before I picked my plan. I didn’t feel like I had to guess or dig through weird fine print. Once I actually looked it over, it was surprisingly easy to understand.

My claim was taken care of quickly and there wasn’t much hassle, which I appreciated. That said, I did get a little annoyed because the communication wasn’t always clear, and I had to figure out what was going on a couple of times.
